The walls in my girls room is nothing but...well...a very bare, boring wall!  So I've decided to make a few very cute and very cheap wall decorations to add some color.  Here is what I came up with:

So here's what you'll need to make these:

*Mod Podge! (I am SO fascinated with this stuff!)
*A small sponge brush (Pack of 5 is $0.97 at Wal Mart)
*12x12 inch Scrapbook paper of your choice (I used 12 sheets)
*Scissors & Exacto knife (I did not have an exacto knife on hand and just used a serrated knife.  It worked!)
*20x30" Foam Board (I found these at Wal-Mart for $1.99 each.  Each board makes six 10x10 squares)

I had all the supplies on hand except the foam boards, so this total project only cost me roughly $5.

Mark your foam board along all sides in 10 inch increments and draw your outline as shown:

Cut the board into 10 inch squares.

Spread a thin coat of mod podge over one side of the square board.  Make sure it is a thin and even layer - too much may cause your paper to wrinkle and have bubbles.  You can see below what happened to one of mine that had too much on it.

Lay your 12x12" paper face down on a smooth hard surface.  Lay the board in the middle of the paper (backside) making sure to leave 1 inch margins on each side.  Press firmly in all areas for about 15 seconds total starting from the center and pushing outward.

Next, you'll need to cut a small square at each of the corners (as shown).

Apply a thin layer of mod podge on the back side of the flap and fold over.  Do this to all four sides.

Your foam board should now look like this! Back, front.  I put wall putty in the corners of the board and pushed it against the wall... easy removal should I decide to move them elsewhere in the future.

You can add a cute little bow in the corner or center, some shabby or rolled rosettes, or even some cute little gems/beads.  Have fun with it!  If you'd like to hang these on the wall instead of using wall putty, simply glue a 10-15 inch strip of ribbon in the top corners of the back of the board.  I'll have a picture up of my finished project soon!
